SimplifyingDIYDesign.com reserves the right to change pricing on packages and service without notice. Any changes to pricing will be updated on the website.
A deposit will be required to book a project. I will estimate the number of pages for the design and 20% of the estimated final cost will be due as a deposit.
Any clients with outstanding jobs or deposits in effect will not be subject to the pricing change. Once a deposit is made you are guaranteed that price for the job unless otherwise noted.
>> Payments & Waiting List
Design jobs are added onto a waiting list based on the next opening date. For information on the waiting list opening please contact email@example.com for details. This list is not public but an opening date will be quoted upon request.
Opening dates may vary from the original quote depending on when the deposit is submitted. Clients are not added onto the waiting list until a deposit has cleared both parties. Any client pending scheduling will be given an opening date and four days to submit payment, after that time a new opening date may be given.
>> Deposits & Cancellation
Once a deposit is made a refund will only be issued if it is requested in writing or email prior to 14 days before the start date. Deposits will be forfeited if cancellation is less than 14 days of scheduled start date. If within’ 14 days of the start date client will be given the option to move to the back of the waiting list or use their deposit amount as credit towards other work. The credit must be used or scheduled within’ 30 days of cancellation.
If you cancel your project once it’s been started (on or after the start date) you will have the option to move to the next opening in the schedule to finish, if that date is then canceled you will be required to forfeit your initial deposit and have to submit again for a new project.
SimplifyingDIYDesign.com reserves the right to cancel any job if I feel the project will not work out for either parties or communication is not clear and consistent from the client. In this case the client will be billed, based on the time spent on design at an hourly rate of $35/hr or forfeit their deposit, whichever is less.
Expedite fees are non-refundable, there are no exceptions to this.
>> The Design Process
Prior to the design being started, I require your branding information, logo, and any signature (paid) font files or patterns you would like used in your design.
I also require that all content that is to be included in the product be written out and proofread prior to designing. Preferably in a google doc.
Once design is complete (usually within 1 week, depending on the size of the project) a preview file will be emailed to the client for approval. Once the design is approved, the final invoice will be sent. Once it is paid, the file will be sent to the client. Most designs are PDF, JPG, PNG, PPTX (powerpoint) files.
Up to two revisions are allowed. Once the design is approved, no more major changes will be made. Any changes after the two revisions (and prior to final design approval) may result in an additional fee up to $35/hr rate.
If the client is not communicating via email in a timely manner the design may be moved to the back of the list. I am flexible on this and do not expect a response ASAP but I do ask that we do not go one to two weeks between emails. If I find that the communication is not consistent the client will be informed and given the chance to respond or will be moved back to the next opening date.
I do ask that you make sure you’re available during the scheduled dates of the project. This is to ensure your design is done in a timely manner. Also please note that this is a creative process, if we have to go weeks between talking then I have lost all ‘flow’ for the project.
>> Completion & Final Payment
A preview file will be emailed to the client for approval once the design is complete. Once the design is approved, the final invoice will be sent. Once it is paid, the file will be sent to the client. Most designs are PDF, JPG, PNG, PPTX (powerpoint) files. There are no exceptions.
>> Stock image usage
Social media images generally require stock images. You will be required to provide your own stock images for your social media designs. You may also grant me access to your paid stock photo membership (which I will use only to purchase stock images for you).
If you would like me to find images for you, I will provide you with up to 6 options of stock photos (prior to purchasing from your stock account)- if you still feel those images are not a good fit, I will ask that you provide your own stock photo for me to use in your design.
>> Graphics Ownership (templates only)
Once the final payment is submitted the client has ownership of these items but agrees to the following terms
- You may use the template to create and sell your own product, and to create opt ins
- You may not create a template out of my template to sell
- You may no resell my templates– paid or free
- You may no reuse my templates as opt ins
- You may give your VA the templates to use for your designs only
